UPDATE: April 25th
Here are some pictures of my intake manifold and throttle body
spacer. The spacer is made to adapt my 5.0's throttle body onto Four Banger's
intake. It was made by my friend Danny, who has the coolest shop and is the best
at designing some of the coolest stuff I've ever seen, and by myself.
The stock T/B is just too small, Compared to a 5.0's. Plus the
T/B was free. Ya can't beat that!
The intake manifold
is a stock '89 upper that I got from the Junk yard. I have cut the bottom,
gutted it out, rotated it 90 degrees towards the front of the car, and rewelded
it. The purpose of the rotation was to make the boost system with less area to
have to boost up, giving it quicker spool up (reaction) times when I accelerate
and decelerate between lights and such.
The T/B should be able to use the stock throttle cable and
mounts. The Idle Speed Control Motor will clear the fiberglass cowl hood by a
little over an inch.
Rotated, Gutted and Welded.
Now, my next project is to get some mandrel bent pipe together
and make some boost pipes. I plan to use 2 1/2 pipe on the turbo side and 3" on
the T/B side.
I can't wait to get these pieces
together!
Four Banger is still on the road and gets
great gas milage. It's even spanked a new Z28 and a couple of good looking
Mustangs. I don't get in that many races though. I'm still working on getting
some gauges on this thing.
More to come
soon........
