I found a fan shroud off of a 3.8 Mustang and a radiator off a Tempo or Taurus, I forgot which it was. All I know is that it was aluminum and about two inches thick. I wanted either a really skinny and tall radiator to fit in between the boost pipes or a really short and wide one. This one was too good to pass up. It's like new! With some flexiable radiatior hoses and a lot of zip ties, it works. That flex fan really pulls a lot of wind! The intercooler stays very cold. I now need to find some insulation for the boost pipe to help isolate it from the radiator and exaust manifold heat.
Radiator and fan shroud in place.
Even with the huge gap between the intercooler and the shroud, I can feel a ton of air being pulled in through the grille. The secret is to put the fan as far in the shroud as possible. I'm going to fill the gap with either metal plate, fiberglass or sculpt some thing out of spray foam.
Looks like a factory setup, well kinda.
Nice fat aluminum radiator!
17 inch flex fan bought at Discount Auto
Looking better and better! Notice my $7 dollar, 100psi fuel pressure gauge? I found it in the plumbing section at Lowes. Works great!
